THE CHAKRA POSTERS

Progressing well, and working hard.  More time due to the holidays and "my sort" of SILENT RETREAT.  I say "sort-of" because I think that blogging would count as talking, and I am not sure what my Abbot would say about being kidnapped on New years Eve.  Well, I do know actually - he would say nothing, and smile and tell me to meditate.  My enlightenment (or not) is my business, and I am sure that is the way he would see it.

The posters are coming on well, and are a meditation in themselves.  The work is so detailed and so painstaking, that I have to be a meditator to continue.  I remember once reading that the artist Lindsay of "Magic Pudding" Fame  (and lots of wonderful etchings), said that cutting the plates was like "sitting over the gates of hell".  Perhaps that is over stating my position, but it does take a certain persistence and determination to keep on keeping on.

I made the decision to not erase the under-drawings.  It goes without saying that these posters are hand drawn and not computer images.  When you colour them in, I want it to look like these are actaully drawings you have done, not simple childrens pages that that you have coloured between the lines, rather like a "colour by numbers" exercise.

I do have the ide that I will be finished them by the end of January, but then i will have to do a booklet to accompany them, this will take a while longer, and then of course there is the exhibition of paintings.  Because this is a long project, I will be releasing each part in stages.  So, you will be able to start work on the posters, then get the book, and then visit the exhibition.  Right now, it looks like a lot of work.....
